AB/DL

Writing this piece, I remembered a testimonial I received back in probably 2020 or 2021 from a client who took the chance and shared his love of ABDL. I try to subtly let clients know that I’m super open minded and they so often report how easy I am to talk to. I’ve always been thankful to this client for trusting me with their story.

If you aren’t in a helping profession, this might not resonate with you… Do you ever have that moment where you realize that your work is a super great fit for a community and then realize you’ve been working inside that community already?

Introducing the AB/DL community! You might wonder what the heck that is?! AB/DL is short for Adult Baby Diaper Lover.

I was on a call with Sandra Koellmann, a local therapist here in San Diego, talking about a client that she was going to be sending my direction. Sandra has become quite the ABDL expert in our area. As she shared information about a possible client, I noticed, “Yes! I love these types of clients! They fit into my sweet spot.”

I started my work in professional cuddling back in 2015. Since then, I’ve had an occasional client come to me and openly share their involvement in the ABDL world while I’ve cuddled with them. How many didn’t share with me? Who can say?

I remember hearing a presentation on AB/DL by Dr. Rhoda Lipscomb at the ALT-Sex Conference in NYC in 2019. It was so informative. I appreciated it. This weekend, I’ll be taking a 2-day training hosted by TASHRA: A Clinician’s Guide to Ageplay, ABDL, and Littles, as I want to have more understanding as my client list grows. It’s kind of what I do, take deep dives into the communities I serve, wanting to give the best care I can.
